Can I study whilst working?
Advent’s programmes are delivered via open distance learning courses, so you can study at home and manage studies around work and other personal commitments.

Are the Certifications recognised qualifications?
The Certifications are all widely recognised qualifications in the IT industry not only in the UK but also internationally. Exams are those published and recognised by Microsoft or the relevant Certifying organisation.

Is it possible to get a job in IT before I complete a certification programme?
Yes. Not only is it possible, but very common for students to be able to secure a position well before completing the programme. Do I need a computer and Internet access for the course?
Yes. Students need access to a computer and Internet access.

Are exams included?
Yes. All exam fees are included within the course fee.

Can I retake the exams if I do not pass first time?
If a student is unsuccessful in passing an exam, Advent will pay exams to be retaken provided that our tutors are satisfied that a student is sufficiently prepared.

How much time do I need to devote to training?
Advent Computer Training expects that once a student begins a training course they will commit to a minimum of 6 hours per week. Most of our student’s study anywhere between 6 and 15 hours per week. This will largely depend on a student’s individual circumstances and on how quickly they wish to complete the course.

Where do I study?
Provided you have access to the Internet, you are relatively free to study anywhere. Ideally you will require a quiet location and – if studying at home – a room away from distractions or disturbance would be most suitable. As we provide material that can be printed, you do have the option to work away from your computer.
