Sharon Returns to Full Time Work

Mother of three Sharon Jeffs really enjoyed her part time job in the local deli, but with her children growing up, she decided the time had come to find a full time job she could get her teeth into.

‘I made some good friends at the deli, but the work didn’t tax my brain in any way,’ says 45-year-old Sharon. ‘I have always had a love of computers and decided to earn some money doing something I enjoy. Being self-taught, however, I realised that I needed a recognised qualification to open doors for me.’

Advent did just that; Sharon enrolled on her MCSE and got in touch with Advent Careers to discuss her options.

‘I found the advice from Advent Careers absolutely invaluable,’ says Sharon. ‘The help they gave me on presenting my CV was the best. After that, they helped me with things like dress code, how to ask the right questions and general interview technique. It meant that when I was in an interview I felt perfectly at ease, which I’m sure helped me to secure my new position with Add Technology.’
