Carolyn Doubles her Money

20-year-old Carolyn Pursell got a bonus birthday present when she landed a new job as an IT telephonist and doubled her salary overnight, thanks to Advent Computer Training and Advent Careers.

Carolyn, who previously worked as a hairdresser, had not long started her Advent Computer Training course when Advent Careers got in touch and asked if she would be interested in applying for a job at software developers Invu, in Northampton.

Carolyn explains: I was really surprised when Advent Careers called me to say they had a position that may be suitable for me. I never expected to get my first job in IT so soon it was the same week as my birthday!!

Advent Careers also helped Carolyn to write her CV something she had never done before.

Im delighted, said Carolyn. Im learning new skills and earning a good salary at the same time. What better birthday present could I have asked for?
