Senior IT Support Analyst - IT Careers
Salary Range:
£27,000 - £40,000
Recognised Qualifications:
Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) and Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST)
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining and developing the IT infrastructure including WAN/LAN, switching, hubs, routers, firewalls
- Analysing systems performances, identifying weaknesses and areas for improvements of network and processes
- Performing systems upgrades to improve efficiency, reliability and performance of networks
- Maintaining connectivity of all servers, shared software, groupware, and other applications
- Establish and implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure system security
- Developing and ensuring Standard Operating Procedures are followed
- Developing and performing system back ups and recovery procedures
- Maintain and update training materials for end users, team members and colleagues
- Troubleshooting for escalated support issues
- Project work for new hard and software development
- Overseeing a team of support technicians
A Typical Day as a Senior IT Support Analyst:
Your role as a Senior IT Support Analyst will mainly involve looking after the IT infrastructure within your organisation. Tasks could include installation and configuration WAN and LAN, performing network, hardware and software upgrades, and providing troubleshooting support for escalated IT related issues. You will be responsible for analysing the efficiency of the network and related procedures, and then following up with remedial actions and recommendations for improvements. Periodic system back ups will be part of your role, as will ensuring recovery procedures are in place should a fault occur. You may also be required to organise helpdesk cover, and support a team of helpdesk technicians, providing training and assisting in their development.
