Senior Database Analyst - IT Career
Salary Range:
£30,000 - £60,000
Recognised Qualifications:
Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA)
Key Responsibilities:
- Extracting high quality data by developing new and maintaining existing queries
- Providing high level management information in the form of daily, weekly or monthly reports to track business performance and key performance indicators
- Liaising with marketing, sales and business development functions to explore new data avenues that will drive increased sales.
- Co-ordination and execution of adhoc analysis to assist business decisions
- Customer profiling
- Monitoring database efficiency and performance
- Ensuring security of database is maintained, back up procedures carried out and data recovery procedures are in place
- Database capacity planning
- Research and advising management on new technologies and upgrades. Then implementing any changes
- Training of junior analysts
A Typical Day as an Senior Database Analyst:
Your typical day as a Senior Database Analyst will primarily involve extracting data from the range of corporate databases, and presenting the results in an appropriate format for the required audience. You are likely to be asked to present information to assess current and past business performance, as well as data that can be used to drive sales, such as customer profiling. An important part of your role will be maintaining the efficiency and performance of the database. You will need to run regular back ups and checks, and ensure that recovery procedures are in place should technical faults occur. You will also be asked to advise on new technologies and procedures that could improve efficiency and train junior database analysts and administrators.
