IT Support Manager - IT Careers
Salary Range:
£30,000 - £50,000
Recognised Qualifications:
Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) and Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST)
Key Responsibilities:
- Defining and managing the corporate IT strategy
- Overall responsibility for providing high quality IT services
- Maximising efficiency of IT systems and procedures and driving improvements
- Supplier relationship management including negotiating contracts
- Investigating advancements in technologies and where necessary implementing change on time and to budget
- Management of the IT budget
- Managing a team of staff including recruitment, appraisals and disciplinary action if necessary
A Typical Day as an IT Support Manager:
Your typical day as an IT Support Manager will involve managing your team of technicians and analysts, to ensure all necessary tasks are completed and helpdesk duties are covered. You will be responsible for analysing the performance of IT systems and procedures, and driving improvements where necessary. As IT Support Manager you will have overall responsibility for the IT budget, strategy, procurement of new technologies and equipment, and managing third party and contractor relationships. You will also be required to liaise with other senior managers to identify new ways that IT can help improve performance of the business. You may be required to work unusual hours and to manage a 24 hour operation.
