MCSA & CCNA Course Overview

The MCSA training course will help individuals advance their career by confirming that you have the skills necessary to successfully manage and troubleshoot system environments.

Combining the Microsoft certifications with the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) accreditation will allow you to apply your knowledge of Windows based networking with Cisco physical and hardware based networks; the backbone of all network topologies. This will allow you to gain skills in working with Windows software based network technology and Cisco hardware based networking; a combination which will provide students with wider career opportunities and raise your knowledge of networking devices, protocols, and standards.

The MCSA with Cisco CCNA is appropriate for individuals who wish to become

  • Systems engineers
  • Network Administrator
  • Information systems administrator

  • Technical support specialist
  • Cisco network engineers

MCSA & CCNA Certifications

Students enrolled on the programme will first study for and gain the CompTIA A+ certification proving the candidate has a broad base of knowledge and competency in core hardware and operating system technologies. The MCDST credential demonstrates that individuals have the skills to successfully support end users and troubleshoot desktop environments running the Microsoft Windows XP operating system.

The MCSA credential is one of the most widely recognised technical certifications for network administrators in the IT industry. By earning the MCSA credential, individuals are demonstrating that they have the skills necessary to successfully install, implement, and administer the most widely used windows client and server operating system in the industry.

The Cisco CCNA network associate certification validates the student’s ability to install, operate, configure, and troubleshoot routed and switched networks allowing you to broaden your skills and career opportunities using physical hardware.

MCSA & CCNA Training Delivery

The programme consists of nine study units allowing students to focus on working through specific areas in a logical order to ensure pre-requisite knowledge and skill is gained.

Each unit prepares students for specific exams by providing clear guidance on exam objectives through course materials combined with support from qualified CompTIA, Microsoft, and Cisco trainers.

Classroom based workshops include additional exam preparation advice and assistance and provide students with an opportunity to resolve any difficulties they have encountered while studying.

In order to maintain an efficient flow of information and to ensure that effective support can be offered, tests and mock exams are sent to students at key stages throughout the programme. This allows a student’s progress to be monitored and logged on Advent’s student management system so that support can be provided where necessary.

Programme Materials

Upon starting each unit, each student will be provided with comprehensive study materials for that unit contained in manuals, guides, and CD-ROM.

Study manuals following the official exam objectives will be provided with testing software to assess your level of knowledge and readiness for the exam. Study companions will instruct students on how to study for that unit including timescales.

Advent Careers put forward my CV for the job and secured me an interview. The staff were all friendly, helpful and kept me informed of progress all along the way. I’m really enjoying the job; I still have contact with lots of people and I’m helping to solve their problems, which is very satisfying.
