CIW Course Overview
The Advanced Web Designer course, with the CompTIA® A+ and Master CIW Designer qualifications proves that IT Professionals have the knowledge and competency in computer hardware and operating system technologies, and have the skills to develop and maintain web and e-commerce sites using a variety of web languages and applications whilst specialising in Adobe® Dreamweaver and Flash.
CIW Certification
The CIW certification is the worlds largest growing and most popular Internet certification. Candidates holding the Master CIW Designer certification demonstrate an understanding of multiple and vendor neutral skills as well as knowledge of industry standards and best practices. The certification is ideal for individuals wanting to start a career as a web developer using authoring and scripting languages, management tools, digital media tools and moving onto e-commerce standards and technologies. The certification and course will provide individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to work with a variety of packages such as Microsoft® FrontPage®, Adobe Dreamweaver®, Flash® and Fireworks®, Contribute®, Dynamic HTML and other multimedia standards.
Students will be able to enhance their skills and knowledge further by studying for and taking the Adobe Dreamweaver and Flash exams. Specialising in Adobe Dreamweaver and Flash will demonstrate expertise and proficiency in the use of highly sophisticated packages and will allow your skills and knowledge to be clearly visible in your graphical work. In a world where website functionality, look and feel are crucial, the Adobe products continue to make their stamp on website design.
Students will begin the course learning and passing the CompTIA A+ certification to gain a better understanding of computer hardware components, operating systems, computer maintenance, networking, health and safety, and security. Earning the A+ certification will prove that the candidate has entry level knowledge to enter a career in IT and have the necessary skill and knowledge to successfully progress onto other certifications which require background knowledge on computer systems.
CIW Training Delivery
The programme consists of seven study units allowing students to focus on working through specific areas in a logical order. Each unit prepares students for specific exams by providing clear guidance on exam objectives through course materials combined with support from qualified A+, CIW, and Adobe Certified Instructors.
Students will receive course material for each unit through the post with instructions on how to start the unit with recommendations on study tips. Each unit has an accompanying classroom based workshop which consists of hands-on exercises, discussions, exam preparation advice, and provides an opportunity for students to resolve any difficulties they have encountered while studying.
Programme Materials
Upon starting each unit, each student will be provided with study materials for that unit contained in manuals, guides, and CD-ROM. Study manuals following the official exam objectives will be provided with testing software to assess your level of knowledge and readiness for the exam.
