Advanced Networking Specialist

Networking Course Overview

The Advanced Networking Specialist course with the Security and Messaging credentials is the premier certification for networking professionals who analyse the business, security and messaging requirements for organisations, and implement and design a secure network infrastructure based on the Microsoft Windows® Server system. The MCSE is one of the most widely recognised and sought after technical certifications in the IT industry, and with Security and Messaging specialisations will allow you to further your career, knowledge, and skills in two areas which are in high demand and valued by networked organisations of all types and sizes.

The MCSE with Security and Messaging is appropriate for individuals who wish to become:

  • Systems engineers
  • Technical support engineers
  • Systems analysts/Network analysts
  • Technical consultants
  • Network and infrastructure security consultants
  • Messaging consultants

Students will first study for and gain the CompTIA A+ certification proving the candidate has a broad base of knowledge and competency in core hardware and operating system technologies. The MCDST credential demonstrates that individuals have the skills to successfully support end users and troubleshoot desktop environments running the Microsoft Windows XP operating system.

MCSA and MCSE Certifications

The MCSA and MCSE credentials demonstrate that individuals have the skills necessary to lead organisations in the successful installation, administration, implementation, and design of the most widely used windows client and server operating system in the industry.

Students will be able to further enhance their skills and expertise by taking additional exams earning them specialisations in Security and Messaging. The Security specialisation qualification will demonstrate their ability to plan, design, and implement Windows security solutions in mid to large sized companies. It will also validate knowledge of cryptography, operational security, and general security concepts. Gaining the Messaging Specialisation will allow individuals to apply strategic knowledge and be able to design new and existing exchange infrastructures including security strategy. Both specialist credentials are widely recognised and sought after technical certifications in the IT industry due to the high level of skills and knowledge acquired.

Networking Training Delivery

The programme consists of eleven study units allowing students to focus on working through specific areas in a logical order.

Each unit prepares students for specific exams by providing clear guidance on exam objectives through course materials combined with support from qualified CompTIA and Microsoft trainers.

Programme Materials

Upon starting each unit, each student will be provided with comprehensive study materials for that unit contained in manuals, guides, and CD-ROM. Study manuals following the official exam objectives will be provided with testing software to assess your level of knowledge and readiness for the exam. Study companions will instruct students on how to study for that unit including timescales.
