Advanced Database Specialist
Database Course Overview
The Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) credential with Databases is the premier certification for networking professionals who analyse the business requirements and design and implement the infrastructure for business solutions based on the Microsoft Windows® operating system platform and the SQL Server 2005 system. The MCSE credential is one of the most widely recognised and sought after technical certifications in the IT industry, and with the MCTS and MCITP in SQL 2005 exams taken at the end, will provide students with a high level of skills and knowledge that can be applied to both networking and database technology in companies and networks of all types and sizes.
The Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) in SQL Server 2005 credentials are the premier and new generation of specialist certifications offered by Microsoft enabling candidates to target the SQL Server 2005 technology and demonstrate their expertise in this area. The MCSE with Databases certification is appropriate for individuals who wish to become:
- Systems engineers
- Technical support engineers
- Systems analysts/Network analysts
- Technical consultants
- Database analysts
- Network and database integration consultants
Students will first study for and gain the CompTIA A+ certification proving the candidate has a broad base of knowledge and competency in core hardware and operating system technologies. The MCDST credential demonstrates that individuals have the skills to successfully support end users and troubleshoot desktop environments running the Microsoft Windows XP operating system.
MCSA and MCSE Certifications
The MCSA and MCSE credentials demonstrate that individuals have the skills necessary to lead organisations in the successful installation, administration, implementation, and design of the most widely used windows client and server operating system in the industry.
Students will be able to further enhance their skills and expertise by earning the MCTS SQL Server 2005 certification. This will allow individuals to demonstrate thorough knowledge of SQL Server 2005, how to implement and maintain databases and know how to explore the tools and interfaces. Earning the MCITP certification demonstrates that candidates are able to design and implement database security and server automation as well as manage, maintain and recover an enterprise database solution 24/7 in an organisation.
Database Course Delivery
The programme consists of eleven study units allowing students to focus on working through specific areas in a logical order.
Each unit prepares students for specific exams by providing clear guidance on exam objectives through course materials, combined with support from qualified CompTIA and Microsoft trainers.
Programme Materials
Upon starting each unit, students will be provided with comprehensive study materials for that unit contained in manuals, guides, and CD-ROM. Study manuals following the official exam objectives will be provided with testing software to assess your level of knowledge and readiness for the exam. Study companions will instruct students on how to study for that unit including timescales.
Programme Objectives
At completion of the study programme students will have acquired the following skills:
- Ability to competently install, build, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot and repair personal computers, hardware and devices.
- Ability to install, deploy, and configure Windows XP and Server 2003 operating systems.
