Advent Becomes First UK Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) Learning Alliance Partner
01/08/2008Advent Computer Training is the first training provider in UK to become a Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) Learning Alliance partner. This status is currently exclusive to Advent Computer Training and recognises the quality of Advent’s training provision and the company’s training facility.
The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) is the voice of the world’s £1.5 trillion information technology industry, with membership of over 22,000 that extends into more than 100 countries around the world. Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) members include major global IT players such as Dell, IBM, Siemens, Intel and Hewlett Packard – to name but a few. These and hundreds of other companies use CompTIA certifications to benchmark and develop their IT staff.
In order to most efficiently serve the industry and its members, CompTIA has developed a wide range of initiatives and programs dedicated to major areas within the IT industry. They include, convergence technology, e-commerce, IT training, software services, certification, public policy and workforce development.
CompTIA also serves the global IT industry as the world's largest developer of vendor-neutral IT certification exams. To date, more than one million CompTIA certifications have been earned worldwide.
Rigorous Process
In order to achieve CLA partner status, Advent has undergone a rigorous assessment process covering all aspects of training provision. Advent is already a CompTIA member and Authorised Quality Curriculum user.
What CLA Partner Status Means to Students
CLA partner status clearly demonstrates how Advent works closely with industry bodies - not only to ensure the quality of its training provision, but also to build and maintain links with leading organisations and companies in the IT sector. It is these relationships - and the company’s in-depth understanding of the IT industry in general - that enables Advent to provide students with a real opportunity to start a new career in IT through its distance learning training courses.
As the mouthpiece for the technology industry, the levels an organisation must achieve before it can be validated as a CompTIA CLA partner are very high," explains Matthew Poyiadgi, European director CompTIA. "Advent has demonstrated it reaches the very peak of training and certification capabilities across every aspect of its business. From training materials to trainer quality, it hits the mark."
Instructors at CLA facilities must be certified at two levels. Firstly, all instructors teaching for an IT certification must be certified in that subject. In addition to the program certification, an instructor must also have an appropriate instructor / teaching certification.
Another aspect of Advent’s training provision endorsed by CompTIA is the training materials, which already carry the CompTIA seal of approval.
Access to a testing facility where students can take certification exams is very important in a centre applying to become a CLA partner. Our purpose designed training centre meets this need with its dedicated, in-house examination room. Students also have access to regional exam centres across the UK.
Advent’s existing quality control and customer satisfaction policies meet the stringent requirements of CLA partnership and include instructor evaluations, options for re-taking a class at no additional charge and money-back guarantees.
CompTIA certifications enable people with no IT skills to access the IT sector. They also provide a structured career progression pathway for those looking to develop their existing skill levels.
