The TechGuys
The TechGuys - one of DSG internationals brands is the companys digital support service for the 21st Century home; other well-known brands within the DSGi group include Currys, PC World and Dixons.
Research shows eight out of ten UK adults routinely want help with everyday technology tasks, such as restoring lost data or installing new PC equipment. DSGis response is The TechGuys, 3,000 experienced advisors ready to provide customers with fast, reliable and expert help and advice.
Two Million Spare Parts
They are supported by state-of-the-art repair centres, technical databases, a spare parts vault of more than 2 million components, and an award-winning telephone team who handled 3.6 million calls last year and fixed 80% of callers IT problems over the phone.
Advent Careers has a strong relationship with the TechGuys having placed a number of students in after sales support roles.
Placement Service
Natasha Bond is a Resourcing Advisor within the in-house recruitment team who identifies potential candidates to fill these roles; Natasha was interested to learn about the placement service provided by Advent Careers.
A colleague initially told me about the service. I was keen to learn more about these individuals who had shown a good level of initiative by putting themselves through an IT training course. The Advent team provided us with a good selection of CVs and were always on the end of the phone if we had any questions, explains Natasha.
Recommend the Service
Natasha says she would recommend the service to other companies looking for IT support staff. Its always difficult finding people who have good customer service skills and who are interested in IT; working with Advent Careers has given us access to another pool of potential candidates which has proved very helpful. Im sure we will be working with them again in the future.
